On February 17, 2025, the Foreign Languages Literature Hall hosted a book exhibition dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the birth of the great Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbayuly. The exhibition was held under the theme “Қалың елім, қазағым, қайран жұртым…” (My vast country, my people, my beloved land…).
Abai Kunanbayuly was a poet, enlightener, and the founder of written Kazakh literature and the Kazakh literary language. He was also a philosopher, composer, translator, and political thinker whose works continue to shape Kazakh culture and identity.
The exhibition presents a rich collection of materials for readers, including Abai’s poetry, selected works, and his renowned Kara Söz (Words of Wisdom) in both Kazakh and English. It also features publications by leading Abai scholars, offering insights into his life, philosophy, and literary legacy.
