Library and Information Center of Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages named after Abylai Khan (hereinafter – LIC) was organized in 1941 on the basis of the library technical school. The book fund amounted to 20 thousand copies of books and only 2 employees worked in the library.
Now it is a modern library with a rich book fund, which has more than 600 thousand copies of publications.
The main task of the LIC is to help improve the quality of education and science at the University by providing innovative library and information products and services to researchers, teachers and students of the University.
The book fund of the library consists of specialized, business and fiction literature in different languages: Kazakh, Russian, English, Persian, French, Turkish and others
The library users have access to domestic and foreign licensed electronic resources, which are placed on remote servers and available at IP addresses of the university, the volume of electronic publications is about 500 thousand publications.
Library staff help users to search for information in internal and external databases, teach students to work with full-text electronic publications.
