On March 12, 2026, a lecture in German was delivered in the Foreign Literature Reading Hall to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Austrian writer, poet, and screenwriter Ingeborg Bachmann.
The lecture on the life and work of the poet was given by Professor I. Kapiten, a Germanist from the Zurich University of Teacher Education.
During the lecture, students were shown a presentation about I. Bachmann, and a brief overview of the books displayed at the book exhibition was presented.
Professor B. Zh. Shpikbayeva, the academic supervisor of the Austrian Library, provided translation into Kazakh and Russian for the students in order to ensure a fuller understanding of the lecture’s content.
