From 6 to 13 September 2026, a study visit for staff members of Austrian Libraries abroad was organized by the International Cultural Relations Section of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of Austria (BMEIA).
Kuanishova L.A. participated in the international event as a representative of the Austrian Library in Almaty.
The study visit programme covered the cities of Vienna, Brno, Olomouc and Kraków. As part of the programme, participants attended the meeting on Austria’s cultural policy abroad (Auslandskulturtagung), organized by BMEIA. They learned about current areas of international cultural cooperation, cultural diplomacy, and the development of Austria’s cultural activities abroad, while also sharing professional experience.
One of the key events of the study visit, organized to mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Austrian Libraries in 2026, was a commemorative event dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Austrian Library in Kraków.
The study visit provided an important opportunity for professional exchange among staff members of Austrian Libraries abroad, contributed to the development of international library cooperation, and helped strengthen cultural ties.
